The Richard Montgomery Indoor track and field team competed at the VA Showcase this past weekend at Liberty University.  The meet is one of the premier national meets with teams coming from throughout the United States and Jamaica.

Elias Applebaum, Aidan Goldenberg-Hart, Seydi Sall and Garrett Suhr teamed up in the 4x800m relay.  They finished 1st overall with a time of 7:55.06.  That is a current US #1 time and 2nd all-time indoors at RM.

Sall came back later in the day and won the 500m with a time of 1:04.01, breaking his own school record.  He is currently ranked 4th in the country and is the fastest in Montgomery county history in that event.

Elias Applebaum and Aidan Goldenberg-Hart both ran personal bests in the mile.  Applebaum ran 4:25.98 and Goldenberg-Hart ran 4:29.65 while Suhr ran a seasons best of 4:21.91.

Sophomore Lucas Corea ran a lifetime best in both the mile and the 2mile; running 4:48.90 and 10:12.00 respectively.

Juniors Vinamr Pemmaraju and Andualem Amado both ran a lifetime best in the mile with  times of 4:54.88 and 4:59.65.  

On the ladies side the team of Caia Gelli, Ayokami Akala, Arabella Eismann and Diamond Alexander ran 1:45.06 to break a school record in the 4x200m relay.

Earlier Eismann ran the invitational 200 and ran a personal best time of 26.58.  That is the 2nd fastest in RM Indoor Track and Field history.

Caia Gelli ran the 300m in a time of 39.42 to finish 4th overall and broker her own school record by almost a second. 

Charlotte Turesson has continued her impressive season running the mile in a time of 5:23.06.  That breaks a school record by almost 2 seconds.

Freshman Megan Geary ran the 1000m in a time of 3:14.40 and she is now 2nd all-time at RM in that event. 

The relay team of Caia Gelli, Diamond Alexander, Arabella Eismann and Sierra Stubbs teamed up in the Sprint Medley Relay and ran a time of 4:30.00. 

Next up the team will compete at the Montgomery County Championship Meet on Wednesday 1/22
